As an animal lover, I enjoy doing any work that has to do with animals, or animal care. During high school, I volunteered at the West Vancouver SPCA. Although it was very hard to work there with all of the mistreated and starving animals, being able to spend my days surrounded by and caring for animals was fulfilling and rewarding. I have a lot of respect for the people that work full time at animal rescues; It truly is a heartbreaking job. When I was younger I wanted to be a veterinarian, but as I've grown older I've realized that I wouldn't be very good at it. This summer I plan on volunteering at the SPCA again, this time as a dog walker on weekends. This will give me the opportunity to spend time with animals, and get outdoors more often, which I think is much needed after our harsh Vancouver winters.
